July 21, 2008 - Late  An autumn preview! 
The Blue Devil Football Camp opened this evening, and players grades 7 to 12 nearly filled the entire field for calisthenics and other warm-up exercises. They are the first student-athletes to use the now-completed field. Campers break from a large huddle around midfield and head to various stations to participate in drills.
Former Blue Devils star Bryan Gaiters prepares to take a kickoff during a coverage drill. Gaiters is headed off to begin his college career at Youngstown State later this week. Yes, Blue Devils fans ... what might have been on this fast track! 
Future (background) and current Blue Devils work out in the east end of the field. It was on this sultry evening that the main reason for this project -- the student-athletes in our community -- became a reality. Soccer players and marching band members will soon follow suit as the 2008 fall sports season approaches. Players hit the dummies during a tackling drill along the home sideline. |
