 Dots, dashes and hashes!

The black dot is the penalty kick marker for soccer, the long white dash the 3-yard mark for point-after attempts for football.

Rather than use masking tape, as done on the larger items such as lettering and numbers, the workers used a short piece of angle-iron to hold back the fibers so they could glue in the hashmarks.

It was an assembly line job.

It didn't take long to get a nice, long line of hashmarks down the middle of the field closest to the visitors sideline. Workers from The Motz Group still needed to install the hashmarks toward the home side, and also install the media restraining lines at each end of the field.

The wooden shims have been removed and the rest of the holes filled in around the precast concrete bases for the lights. Wiring is also in place. The poles and fixtures are to be delivered on Wednesday, July 16, and installed the next day.
