 Fun with hot glue!

The spots for the numbers were cleanly shaved from the carpet, leaving a pile of "grass" nearby.

Edges were then masked off.

One worker keeps masking while another fits a number into its shaved-out space to await the glue.

After the numbers were laid back into place, they were glued into the main carpet.

The glue works very quickly. It should ... it's 380 degrees coming from the nozzle!

The numbers were then carefully put in place, allowing the glue to set.

Because of a melting effect due to the heat of the glue, the numbers quickly adhere to the turf, allowing workers to pull up the masking tape and move on to the next digit in just a few minutes.

Meanwhile, the last of the four precast concrete bases for the light poles were being eased into place.

The base was carefully lowered into the 14-foot-deep hole ...

... and then was secured in place with three triangular wooden shims.

The shims were then adjusted to make sure the base was absolutely vertical.

Concrete was then slowly poured into the hole. The light poles and fixtures are expected to be delivered in about a week, and those will be slid down over these bases like a sleeve.

The goalposts were delivered today, too, neatly camouflaged in corrugated plastic drain pipes! And the answer to your obvious question -- white!
