 Holes for poles!

A giant auger is positioned to dig the first of four 14-foot-deep holes needed for the new light poles.

A worker carefully checked to make sure the auger was as vertical as possible.

After the holes are properly dug, the precast concrete bases for the light poles (seen at left) will be lowered into them, then set in place with poured concrete. The light poles will be slid over the bases just like a sleeve.

Periodically, the auger was lifted from the hole ...

... and dumped alongside.

The auger eventually had to cut through some shale, and three of the four holes also took on water.

Meanwhile, turf installation continues. Here a worker spreads a layer of glue
to adhere two pieces of turf along the home sideline.

One worker "knits" the two pieces together while another walks along the seam.

Long nails were used to begin tacking the numbers into place.

All the yard line numbers and triangular "arrows" had been tacked into place along the home sideline.

Other workers from The Motz Group were busy grooming the base along the visitors sideline as it, too, will soon be under "green."
