The view of the partially installed surface from roughly the same spot where John Sulsberger once said to his friend, Michael Jackson, that the spot would make for a nice stadium. It's becoming that way again!

The "glue team" works on the 20-yard line in the west end of the field.

One worker from The Motz Group carefully lays down the hot glue,
while another following behind knits the two pieces together.
Some of the hot glue being carefully applied. This hands-and-knees job must be done back-and-forth across the field for every 5-yard-wide roll of the carpet.

The "ragged edges" along the visitors sideline.
Meanwhile, in the east end, workers were busy lining up the turf.

The black lines on the field will mark the soccer boundaries.
This line will eventually be brought straight with some careful tugging.
But sometimes, the tugging really isn't all that "careful."
The precast concrete bases for the lights have been delivered. Holes will be bored, the bases inserted and then concrete poured into the holes to stabilize the bases. This is expected to be done next week. The rest of the poles will fit down over these bases like a sleeve.
While the number of spectators at the Stadium has grown since the turf installation began, this killdeer seems a bit perplexed at what happened to the old sod!
