 Now it's getting serious!

Excess turf was stripped away from the long edges of the rolls once they were put down.

Workers had to take strips off that were as long as sideline to sideline.

Seriously -- about 55 yards long!

The centerline was measured very carefully for accuracy, which sometimes required a gentle "nudge" of the turf to get in proper alignment.

The measurements were made against a plumb line stretched the width of the field.

However modest, the sight of the first three strips of turf provided an excellent glimpse into what the final product will look like when The Motz Group completes its work.

Rolls of turf, all sequentially numbered, wait in their places to be stretched across the Sulsberger Stadium field. The white bags in the background contain the rubber particles that will eventually be worked into the field. Workers from The Motz Group estimated the carpet itself should be fully installed by the middle of next week.
