 Back at it!

Mother Nature and the weekend intervened for a few days, but the concrete curb has been finished (save for a small stretch on the visitors sideline to provide access to the field for heavy equipment) and workers from The Motz Group have arrived to begin the installation process.

The end of the pole vault runway, where the landing pit will be placed.

The end of the long jump runway and the pit, one day to be filled with sand.

One of the first loads of the stone base is dumped onto the field area.

One worker holds the nailer board in place while another drills a hole through it and into the concrete curb, while still another puts in the screw to hold it in place. The turf "carpet" will be attached to this board.

Drilling into the concrete took a little elbow grease.

A curb was also added in front of the main grandstand. This area was badly eroding and chunks of the old track were breaking off prior to this project. This area will have a concrete walkway rather than an ankle-breaking drop-off.
