JUNE 2, 2008  Hands on sand! Sand is raked in around the track, preparing for installation of a concrete curb.
Workers pause for a moment while a measurement is taken. Another load of sand is delivered. The top of the long jump runway at the east end of the Stadium. The long jump landing pit, looking back up the runway. Workers prepare the machine that will install the curb along the inside of the track. A pump slowly removes some of the water from the field. A torrential rain on Saturday, May 31, left huge puddles on the field area, creating a strange backdrop for that evening's commencement exercises. |
