MAY 28, 2008  A place for everything!
Surveyors were on site to lay out the field. This precise measurement was to mark the end of what will be the pole vault runway
at the west end of the Stadium. A spike with a white ribbon attached is driven into the rolled earth
to mark another key spot on the field. Precise measuring will help assure that everything is going to be where it's supposed to be! The surveyor's assistant uses two wooden stakes to help with accuracy. This wider angle shows how far the project has come in just under one month of work. Up next -- installation of the concrete curb along the inside of the track that will border the new turf. |
